Sheffield NHS Trust Teach Hospital
Our reputation for our intensive Deep Clean Systems has reached far and wide, and one such example is the Sheffield NHS Trust which has excellent standing for teaching medical staff.
In March 2008, i+DCS® travelled north with a Supervisor, Operator and Technician team from its specialist hygiene team, where it met 15 of the Hospitals Infection Control and in-house domestic staff and spent a week with them.
i+DCS® arranged for some of its key suppliers to join them at various stages throughout the training program so that staff could hear firsthand about the latest developments in cleaning technology. This included dry steam, microfibre, ultrasonics and the use of ATP measurement equipment and, of course, gave the Hospital the opportunity to make its own points of contact.
Saturated with information and hands on training techniques, the Sheffield staff set to work towards the end of the week to apply what they had learnt, guided and directed by i+DCS®’s team, by intensively deep cleaning one of the hospital’s wards. The ATP tests showed they had fully taken on board the instruction. A review of the program, some weeks later, showed the Sheffield team had themselves deep cleaned successfully six of the Hospitals wards, and had satisfied the criteria for cleanliness laid down by Infection Control. Patty Hempshall, who organised the training, expressed her satisfaction with the professional results as she now has a nucleus of thoroughly trained staff who appreciate that intensive deep cleaning requires an entirely different approach to standard daily cleans.
