Has experienced a good deal of unwelcome media exposure as a result of its struggles with reducing the incidence of Clostridium Difficile and MRSA in its three hospital sites (Kent & Sussex, Pembury and Maidstone). i+DCS®, whose sister division CKServices had previously undertaken cleaning of the Trusts public areas, was commissioned to carry out the clinical cleaning within the Governments National Deep Clean campaign.
Co-operating with the Hospital Management, in October 2007, i+DCS® moved into the site two teams of hygiene technicians and a raft of steam, microfibre, air management and ultrasonics equipment. All horizontal and vertical surfaces, including patient equipment, in those wards with the major problems were systematically attacked. A Panorama feature (April 2008) on C.Diff in Hospitals, reported that the troubled MTWT had seen a 35% reduction in its infection rates attributable to the Hospital’s segregation of vulnerable patients and to the intensive deep cleaning which was now a routine part of its ongoing cleaning activities throughout the Hospitals three sites. i+DCS® teams were very much in evidence in its debut TV program!
